Pattern Basic Navigation

The title of Basic Navigation License (PNB) qualifies you to
steer recreational vessels up to 8 meters in length and to navigate coastal vessels up to a maximum distance of 5 miles from the coast. This nautical certification allows you to navigate both day and night. Additionally, with the Basic Navigation Skipper certification, you can operate any type of jet ski with unlimited power. In Ships Malaga , our nautical school, we prepare you for both theory and practical training. For the theory, you can choose online or in-person training.

Pattern Boats Recreational

The Pattern Boats Recreational certification – PER qualifies you to operate recreational vessels up to 15 meters in length and to operate coastal vessels up to 12 miles from the coast. The Recreational Vessel Skipper nautical license allows for day and night navigation. Furthermore, with the PER license, you can operate any type of jet ski.

Pattern Yacht

The Yacht Skipper course is an advanced nautical training program that qualifies sailors to operate recreational vessels of greater length and power than those permitted with the Recreational Vessel Skipper (PER) license. This course includes both theory and practice, covering topics such as coastal and offshore navigation theory and calculations, meteorology, and safety at sea. Upon completion of the course and passing the corresponding exams, the holder is qualified to operate vessels up to 24 meters in length and sail up to 150 miles from the coast, allowing you to boat rentals in Malaga..

The Yacht Captain course is an advanced training program designed for those wishing to obtain the highest category nautical certification in recreational boating. This certification allows holders to assume responsibility for and command of recreational vessels up to 24 meters in length, with the ability to navigate without geographical limits in terms of distance from the coast, both day and night.

FAQ Nautical School

Can a foreigner from a third country obtain these nautical qualifications?

No. To obtain nautical qualifications in Spain, it is mandatory to have a Spanish DNI or NIE (Foreigner Identification Number).

Is it mandatory to obtain a medical examination to obtain the degree?

Yes, to obtain a nautical license, you must obtain a medical examination performed at a national driver's medical center. 

Is a previous qualification required to obtain the PER?

The PER is the nautical qualification with the most extensive privileges that you can obtain without having a lower qualification. In other words, you can obtain the PER without a license or PNB.
